My name is Ross Carr and I am an Packaging and Process Engineer with Kiewit. Prior to this, I worked for Tyson Foods Inc., Dennis Group and most recently Syntakt Systems. I have a B.S. in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Kansas State University. In my previous role:Implemented and designed engineering projects to help improve the efficiency of the plant through safety, yields, quality, and reduced costs. This included working closely with contractors, as well as maintenance personnel. Led the ergonomics program in the plant, including several management ergonomic positions, and was responsible for reduction in illnesses that occurred on the job. Trained Junior Industrial Engineers who went on to take Senior roles in the company.Worked closely with hourly plant personnel and got personal feedback for many processes, and opportunities for improvement. Significant training on continuous improvement, and coaching cross function teams through kaizen events.Extensively used such software as AutoCAD, EASE (Engineering Assembly Standards and Estimates- Motion Study Software), QMF, and Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word, including macro building and coding within Excel VBA.Worked at a plant with 4000 employees and over 1000 different jobs, maintained and updated all of the engineering standards within the plant. Planned and implemented the plant labor budget and supporting documentation. Maintained and drove our corporate metric goals, including a yearly multi-million dollar cost savings goal.Worked with corporate scheduling and operations team to help determine our most efficient schedule, where we would maximize profit within the footprint of the facility.
