Doctoral research project characterising Arabidopsis E3 ligases, identifying their substrates and analysing their role in environmental stress responses, leading to the completion of a comprehensive, and well defended PhD thesis (funded by European Research Council).

Delivered laboratory practical classes to undergraduate students for a range of plant/molecular biology undergraduate modules.

Performed glasshouse trials as part of an AHDB-funded bursary project researching the management of clubroot disease in oilseed rape by using qPCR to monitor the accumulation of Plasmodiophora brassicae.

Prepared and analysed large quantities of soil and fruit samples from across the world. Near infra-red spectroscopy and laser diffraction was used in order to carry out particle size measurements and nutrient analysis.
