I have been lucky enough to work in travel, hospitality and training in both Australia, the UK and Europe. I worked at the London Walkabout Club in 1984 after arriving in London late 1983. The London Walkabout Club was and institution for travellers heading from Australia & New Zealand to the UK on a working holiday. The London Walkabout club owned or partnered with hotels, pubs, job agencies, travel agents & tour companies. From barman to bar manager to general manager in my time at the Walkabout I met thousands of people and had the time of my life. From there I purchased the Gin Palace and renamed it the Redback Tavern. This was to become another institution for young travellers arriving in London. Featuring a backpacker hostel up stairs the bar became one of the best known pubs in London. It was while I was here that myself and four others started Eurobus, the first hop on hop off European tour operation carrying 20,000 passengers in it's first year. I moved back to Australia at the end of 1997 after arranging the sale of the Redback. Back in Melbourne and straight back into the pub, backpacker and travel business with the Pint on Punt St. Kilda, The Pint on Punt Brunswick and Kirkpatrick's hotel in Mornington. The Pint on Punt St Kilda was the flag ship with a English Pub, Travel Agency, Tour Desk and a 88 bed backpacker on the first two levels.
