My role as a Commvault Professional Services Consultant leveraged key skills that have matured through prior customer facing experience to deliver both consultative and engineering engagements that:* Developed high level and detailed architectures and designs as a result of analysis of business functional, non-functional, operational and technical requirements* Implemented data protection and data management solutions that leveraged storage agnostic functionality to protect and retain customer data inline with Recovery Point Objectives and compliance requirements* Provided risk assessments and gap analysis of existing environments to craft appropriate strategies for elimination of data loss risk* Assisted Managed Service and Infrastructure-as-a-Service Providers in providing secure multi-tenant data protection solutions within the guidelines of PCI , ISO 27001 and 9000 compliance across multiple geographically located datacentres and various Tier 1 storage vendor environments

Contracting as an independent consultant to a number of Melbourne based system integrator companies, I provided both architecture development and implementation services for CommVault partners who lacked their own internal staff resources to achieve these objectives for new and existing business.My consultative engagements included:* Engaging with customer stakeholders to understand business requirements and current risk exposure* Providing site assessments and gap analysis of existing environment to craft an appropriate solution to eliminate risks and meet data management objectives* Assisting integrators with solution development for their customers* Design and deployment of customer accepted solutions

Employed as a contract consultant to provide a number of Envisian Tier 1 clients with data protection platform health assessments and remediation/uplift implementation plans against vendor and industry accepted best practice standards. Responsibilities included:* Leading customer workshops to understand goals and future initiatives for data protection relevant to the customers core business* Reviewing established data protection software solution configurations and providing gap analyses against customer requirements, both short term and prospective* Developing implementation plans with detailed timeline, dependency and resource requirements for projected remediation and/or uplift services

Originally hired as a contract senior consulting engineer for design and implementation of CommVault solutions to Thomas Duryea clients. Subsequently I was promoted to a Solutions Architect role responsible for development of complex CommVault Simpana and Symantec Enterprise Vault solutions for new and existing accounts to ease information management challenges such as data protection and archival of unstructured electronic records. My customers ranged from local councils, government bodies and commercial and enterprise businesses. Responsibilities included:* Understanding customer data retention requirements under ARRM (Australian Records Retention Manual)* Highlighting organisations risk in traditional "keep all" backup and archiving approaches* Introduction of new backup technologies including deduplication, hardware snapshots and VMware integrated guest protection.While tenured at Thomas Duryea, additional skills in the development and deployment of EMC Atmos Cloud storage with hardware and software API integration from data management product vendors also led to a build and deployment of an internal pilot of the EMC Atmos product for proof of concept purposes.

Relocating from Brisbane to Melbourne to aide Thomas Duryea Consulting in the development of the CommVault solution delivery arm of the business allowed Thomas Duryea to rapidly begin servicing new customer deployments and upgrades for existing customers where a skills shortage previously existed. Following a 3 month contract, I was engaged on a permanent basis to:* Provide senior support capabilities* Develop and mentor CommVault skills in junior team members* Liaise with customers to finalise detailed designs and conduct delivery of CommVault Simpana 7 and Simpana 8 solutions.

Originally employed as a support engineer within this CRN Fast 50 company to assist a broad customer base ranging from real estate offices to commercial businesses and law firms. The role at Corpnet entailed support of technologies from Microsoft, Citrix, AppSense, Symantec, VMware, Mitel, Hitachi Data Systems and CommVault.Key responsibilities included:* Ongoing management of CommVault at Visy Industries* Internal system administration* CommVault data management solution deployments and support for a range of customers. Additionally, the role evolved into providing both project delivery and senior support engineering capabilities to large profile clients including Shell, Virgin Blue, Nufarm, Henley Properties, Flight Centre and Hassell Architects through either existing customer relationships or via direct contract to CommVault APJ Professional Services. The role at Corpnet also allowed development of a broad range of technical skills across a variety of commercial and enterprise grade applications while nurturing and growing skills in project delivery, customer and vendor relationship management and solutions architecture.
