Working as a project manager I am responsible for ASML’s next generation lithography systems, the High-NA platform called EXE, in the preparation and installation phase at our customer sites. Its my job to make sure that when the EXE systems are ready to be shipped to our customers, the installation goes smooth and within committed times. Preparing both ASML as the customer and during the installations driving the progress, securing structural improvements to drive down cycle time and costs. Manpower, customer communication and keep all stakeholders (onsite and on the headquarter) up to speed are part of the job.

Relocating to the USA to manage the installation of ASML’s newest generation High NA lithography systems, the EXE, at our customer site (Intel) in Oregon. Together with our CS team and a lot of support from Veldhoven its our responsibility to bring the installation of the first High NA systems to a success. This is the next big thing in the semi conductor industry to keep Moore’s law alive.

I will be working on ensuring an aligned global approach to the onsite execution of larger Sales Projects in Marel to prepare for future growth. I will do this in close cooperation with key stakeholders in both Sales and Service and with a special focus on on-site execution, cost estimates of site supervisors/FSE’s, installation skills, site management procedures and the cooperation between Industries and Regions on upcoming installations.

After years of struggling with technical downsides and side effects from EUV, ASML is finally ready to deliver NXE systems that are capable and profitable for high volume production to our customers.Working as D&E onsite as a Modular Vessel expert and it is my task to make sure that this big milestone for ASML, our customers and the whole industry, rolls out as smoothly as possible at our biggest customer in the United States and one of our biggest customers around the world, Intel.My main task is to make myself redundant and to make sure that the local ASML team in Hillsboro has the knowledge to maintain and sustain their new NXE systems. Another important task is to give as much as possible feedback from the customer site back to D&E to make sure the EUV technology gets mature in serviceability and availability’s perspective. Close the feedback loop between D&E and the customer in both directions.

Working as an Architect and Integrator in a project to provide 2 (partially) 3D printed Modular Vessels on training locations in Asia. These Vessels will be used to train CS engineers on specific service actions. Since the Vessels will be (partially) 3D printed it is my task to make sure that the systems are designed in this way that the desired service actions and functionalities are feasible within the configuration and budget.

Solving complex technical problems by remote analyzing data and creating deterministic forward looking action plans is key for a GSC engineer. It is important to have good alignment on expectations with the local team and my other GSC colleagues worldwide within this problem solving process. On-site support is often required to solve the problem at the customer. As a GSC engineer I am continuously in contact with D&E, aligning with them on action plans to solve the issue at customer sitesAnother important task of a GSC engineer is to manage the (technical) escalation, secure that the right data is available and provide routine updates to management and stakeholders. Next to solving a technical problem a GSC engineer is responsible to start the process to prevent the issue of happening again in future
