Senior Software Engineer
CurrentOctober 2015 - Present * Researched and developed application of Deep Learning techniques on infrared data, using Convolutional Neural Networks to find and label features in IR image data.March 2012 - Present * Researched and developed a next-generation software solution for overall processing of IR satellite data on GPUs using CUDA, with visualization elements written in Qt and OpenGL 4.1.January 2011 - Present * Created a visualization tool for data extractions to allow an intuitive and quick way to inspect and verify the IR data present in either a live stream or extracted file. This greatly enhanced our ability to troubleshoot data quality and processing issues. * Responsible for maintenance and updates of event tracking software.January 2008 - December 2010 * Created a graphical debugging tool to allow developers to troubleshoot issues in the large and complex network of software applications used to process IR data. This tool, System View, operates by discovering the connections between applications at runtime and graphically portraying the flow of data among the applications. It also provides various means of interrogating individual applications to discover problems that are otherwise time-consuming to diagnose.March 2003 - December 2007 * Developed applications for extraction of IR data from both live processing and archived data. These applications included a GUI for making and managing user requests of IR data, a library for handling low-level details of extracting data, and a GUI to enable replay of extracted data.January 2000 - March 2003 * Created the Post-Event Analysis Tool (PEAT) graphical software application to visualize event data, enabling event analysts to make decisions relating to the truth of observations. PEAT was written in C++ with GUI elements in Motif and OpenGL1.2, and maintenance and upgrades to this application continue to this day.
