May be considered a bit of a digital dinosaur having been into print since the first day of leaving school way back in 1984 where I was an apprentice Crosfield scanner operator at Bantam litho in Basildon. With the introduction of page make up systems it wasn't long before everything turned into Desktop publishing and all things Apple Mac. In the mid 90's I started the daily commute to London Docklands as a scanner operator in a small bureau called the The Working Image Company which supplied scanned images and film separations for publishers and designers in and around London. A exciting place to work but due to technology changes the little bureau sadly could not compete and closed. A good thing that came from working there, and also a hint of great things to come, was my first introduction to Digital Print where we had to use a company that had a web fed Agfa digital press where the quality was a bit hit and miss but great for very short print runs. In 2002 at the Anton Group I was retrained as a Mac operator it wasn't long before the company invested into Digital Printing and I was given the opportunity to go on a course on the Nexpress 2100 were I stayed and saw the progress of the department grow and the Nexpress got faster and quality got better over a period of 12 years. A fleet of eight Nexpresses was pretty impressive but it didn't stop there as Hp Indigo's were introduced in 2016 and I went on a two week course at Hp in Barcelona for training. The indigo press offered speed, volume of work and above all great quality. That's pretty much it but over the years of working with digital I still consider myself a team player who is happy to help out wherever I can with colleagues but also enjoyed working by myself always with the attitude of getting the job right first time every time! With the best quality and within the time schedule in a nice and clean and organised work environment.A dinosaur.....I don't think so
