Senior Project Manager of Meridian West Wind Project for 62 Siemens 2.3Mw turbines at Wellington New Zealand for $440M.The Project was a great challenge and all aspects went well thanks to a diligent management team and excellent Contractor performances. Work was completed safely, within budget and on time. This is the largest wind farm in New Zealand and was constructed with only coastal access for the turbine components. Roads and services were implememted throughout the hilly terrain to enable the transport of wind turbine components and cranage to the 62 sites.

Consulting as Airport Engineer to WIAL. Airport Engineer role from 1998 and Project Manager for Runway RESA Projects from 2005 to 2007. This work included submitting Board papers for development works and major maintenance works and controlling budgets for these works. Works included extensive runway and site works, coastal protection and upgrading and commercial developments. Projects totalling $210M.

Client - Swire. New Cold Storage Facility, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Responsible for the project management of this green field project during the construction phase. Included construction administration, quality assurance and cost control. The work was completed to a high standard, within budget and on time.

Wellington International Airport Upgrade & Terminal

Civil Design Manager, and later construction Contract Administrator of civil works and associated services. Project Manager for the safe construction of the runway overlay, roads, carparks, underground services and early stages of building construction for the Terminal Area Development including airside works. Job Manager for WIAL maintenance works. Job Manager for Runway Overlay Project and author of submission with WIAL leading to ACENZ Merit Award 1997.

Methanex Distillation III & IV Projects, Motunui, New Plymouth, New Zealand. Construction of 2 new methanol plants. Contracts Administrator for construction phase of $168M Distillation III and Distillation IV projects. Excellent project with interesting situations and challenges and a market driven, safety conscious Client. The project size was doubled to 2 plants part way through the project, which kept us rather busy, however the project went well.

Australian Newsprint Mills, Rebuild of Nº 2 Paper Machine, Hobart, Australia. Senior Contracts Engineer for the replacement of the wet end of the paper machine from the new twin wire former to the third press; a new saveall system and an upgrade of all services control systems and ancillary works. The CCS and TMP2 Plant Upgrades were undertaken in parallel with the machine rebuild. Completed within $138M budget, ahead of schedule. Acting Construction Manager for ANM when needed

Australian Newsprint Mills, Replacement Boiler and Ancillary Works, Hobart, Australia. Contracts Engineer /Construction Manager for construction and commissioning of a high pressure coal and wood fired boiler. An upgrade to the CCS Plant Chip Handling, Nº 2 Warehouse and NWPC Load-Out Facility were completed in the early stages of the above project. Project cost was $60M.Australian Newsprint Mills, Rebuild of Nº3 Paper Machine, Hobart, Australia (1988 - 1989). Contracts Engineer/Civil Supt for the installation of horizontal bell baie former and headbox, fourdrinier rebuild, press rebuild, modification and upgrade of all auxiliary systems including stock approach, vacuum, fibre recovery and broke system. Project cost was $90M.

Australian Newsprint Mills, Stage I Effluent Treatment Plant, Hobart, Australia. Project Manager for the construction of a 45m diameter below ground reinforced concrete tank, piping, inlet and outlet structures, control building and roadworks.

H M Prison Refurbishment and Extension, Ararat, Victoria, Australia. Project Manager for Contractor, for the refurbishment of prison facilities. An interesting project and being site based most of the project made it more interesting. Project cost was $13M.

Brown Coal Liquefaction Project, Stage II, Morwell, Victoria, Australia (1985 - 1986). Civil Supt for pilot plant to produce hydrocarbons from Victorian brown coal for earthworks, roadworks, drainage, dams, reinforced concrete footings, slabs, pits and buildings. Project cost was $400M for this stage. Pan Continental Gold Mining Areas Pty Ltd, Paddington Gold Project, Kalgoorlie, Australia. Civil/Structural Supt for the development of a large open cut gold mine and process plant. This $77M project was constructed in a fast track style with contracts let on a schedule of rates basis with construction proceeding as documents were available. Santos Liquids Project, Port Bonython, SA, Australia (1983 - 1984) Employed as Field Engineer and Construction Superintendent for civil work, structural work and buildings. The total project cost of $1,115M consisted of hydrocarbon storage tanks, a fractionation plant, jetty, shiploading facilities and all associated work and services. The scale and momentum of this job compensated for the remoteness and dedication it demanded.

Aluminium Smelter Construction, Portland, Victoria, Australia. Aluminium Smelter. Contract engineering and construction supervision of 70 buildings. Site establishment including earthworks, drainage, roadworks, with services and communication equipment. Consultant supervision for the design and construction of the 640 man construction village with services and amenities. Project cost of Stage 1 was $910M.

Casuarina Hospital Project, Major Housing Contracts, Darwin, NT, Australia. Involved seven major contracts valued at $390M. Civil/Structural Supervising Engineer for each contract and Design Project Engineer and Contracts Engineer for the civil and hydraulic components. Appointed as Supervising Engineer for the $300M housing reconstruction of 1500 houses project following Cyclone Tracy in Darwin. Appointed also as Contracts Engineer responsible for the construction of 400 of those houses costing $93M.

Northern Territory Civil Projects, Darwin, NT, Australia. Duties included surveying, road and drainage system design, structural design and design evaluation.
