I have 21 years of experience in AC-130 gunships, including the last five as AC-130J Contract Instructor. In this capacity, I have managed 2000 hours of student tactical training sorties and have become proficient in multiple processes, software, and hardware for the use and employment of the MX20 HADD Sensor systems, including the HOTAS. I am fluent in close air support communications procedures, the associated mission sets, and components, such as Brimstone, Strike Client, Vortex, SADL, Link 16, and SSDL, CNI-MU and AC-130J defensive systems. As I spent 12 years as an AC-130H sensor operator, with 13 years as an Instructor, and now as an AC-130J Instructor, I am an expert in sensor theory of operations, weapons employment, and tactical considerations on the battlefield. In addition to my understanding of the AC-130J weapons system, I have 13 deployments in support of OEF and enhancing both my technical and experiential knowledge to enhance my student’s training experience.
