Search Network Operations Engineer
Hired for monitoring and supporting search related alerting and outage and be able drive the resolution of any service-impacting events within the Global Infrastructure. Played a key role in coordinating operations and integrations between engineering teams in order to identify potential revenue impaction outages, communicated effectively to upper management, verify users service impact, and also engaged the appropriate engineers to identify root cause and remediation fix.* Key Contributions:Fiercely protecting Yahoo's revenue stream and Core Infrastructure, managing the following properties:Microsoft Alliance - Yahoo Algo, Sponsored Search, Content Match, MultimediaSearch Technologies - Yahoo! Search Marketing, YSS, YFE, YST, APEX, Data HighwayAdvertiser Applications - GD/NGD systems and All Panama and legacy applications Act as a team leader as needed, providing overall delegation within the group to ensure SLA work tasks are completed accordinglyEffectively communicating with External Partners and Internal Properties using a variety of methods (e.g. Email, IRC, IM) to convene updates or resolution for pending issues. Providing training for new and veteran employees of new technologies integrated in the department covering all area's, such as Networking, Hardware, Operating Systems, and Database systems.Prepared documentation for runbooks and training of various technologies, which have been integrated into the OC Burbank. 1 of 2 Project Integration leads of critical revenue impacting internal properties, (e.g. Microsoft Alliance: Apollo, Edward2/UAD, Edlite etc., DataHighway: Sage, Cheetah, Source Rev Mon, etc.) which included monitoring visibility, alerts migration, and training for employees. Utilize various forms of monitoring tools such as OVIS, HPOV, Netcool, and Nagios for over 350,000+ production hosts and applications
