Chefs are an essential element in the supply chain as their influences spread far and wide and yet many are not specifically trained in seafood. For many it is a skill they engage on their journey as a chef. The seafood industry is not a great communicator so I am aiming to be a conduit between seafood and the chefs - happy to answer their questions, assist and connect them where I can and communicate seafood stories to their program. Awarded WGI's 1st Medal of Honor.

Membership of the Asian Pacific Chapter is open to anyone with an interest in Asian aquaculture whether based in the region or outside of the region. The driving goal behind the Chapter is to help sustainable aquaculture development. The main way we aim to achieve this is through a commitment to the dissemination and exchange of information and ideas through meetings, publications and discussions. We hope to serve all our members, who include scientists, teachers, students, farmers, manufacturers of equipment and supplies (including feed) and people who develop policy and regulations.Whilst I left this role in December 2013 I was asked to assist the Chapter and am back on the Board as Past President May 2015 - April 2016

The Best Aquaculture Practices certification program has expanded its international marketing team with the addition of Roy Palmer as BAP's new business development manager for Australasia. GLOBEFISH is the unit in the FAO Fisheries Department responsible for information on international fish trade. The core of GLOBEFISH is the GLOBEFISH Databank. GLOBEFISH produces a number of publications including fish price reports (European Fish Price Report), market studies (GLOBEFISH Research Programme) and trend analysis (GLOBEFISH Highlights). GLOBEFISH is jointly financed by FAO and GLOBEFISH Partners. GLOBEFISH is an integral part of the FISH INFOnetwork and performs a co-ordinating role in the Network activities.

The Australian Fish Names Committee is established under Seafood Services Australia, an accredited Standards Development Organisation. The committee assigns of standard fish names in accordance with transparent and rigorous procedures. Fish Names Committee members are appointed by the SSA Board which must ensure that the committee possesses appropriate skills and knowledge.
