Working within a complex matrix organisation with offices in London, Bermuda, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan and the Isle of Man, this was a change management role encompassing leadership, team development and motivation, reinsurance operations, treasury and investment management, systems enhancement, financial planning and reportingReported directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and worked closely with the executive management team and other senior mangers/directors to enhance operations and ensure delivery of excellent customer service.Key achievements include•Key member of steering committee set up to scope a data warehousing project, in order to resolve issues of inconsistencies in data used for reporting by different functional areas, researched and advised on a number of methodologies at this forum, resulting in the formulation of a major project•Managed the preparation of quarterly reserving pack in conjunction with actuaries and worked closely to analyse technical results (premiums, claims incurred and reserves), and to explain business performance against plans/forecast to the reserving committee.•Prepared quarterly financial reports and agenda papers for Board meetings, including full reconciliation of accounts between head office, branches in Asia and 90% subsidiary in the Isle of Man. Board members commended enhanced controls, new and revised reports.•Boosted staff morale significantly with the automation of manual processes, allowing the team to spend more time understanding the business. Received commendation from executive management in appreciation of enhanced management reporting and analysis
