Led a global Purchasing team of 14 managing supply costs for revenue of $825M. Defined product line strategy with suppliers to support 4 global manufacturing sites and provide purchasing support for product development teams at 5 engineering centers to define forward costs to WIN new business and develop the awarded business. Teams annually exceeded division defined budget targets for material cost improvement. In 2015, attained $22.5M in net savings on purchases of $425M while also improving quality by 11%.

Identified and managed at risk suppliers typically moving tooling to new suppliers while maintaining high volume automotive supply. As economy improved role became more proactive to identify risk before it became an issue, apply lessons to new sourcing, and use same rapid response team for selected cost improvement initiatives. Over 3 years we exited 71 suppliers and saved $1.6M on the $20M of transferred business. All transfer was per automotive quality PPAP and we did not have a single customer impact.

Directed 11 international buyers purchasing $725M/yr of circuit boards, motors, passive electronics, relays, transformers, connection systems, discrete electronics and circuit board assembly services. Managed global link and leverage opportunity. Attained substantial experience in dealing with the legal and supply business issues of the Delphi Ch11 bankruptcy filing while still achieving net annual savings of $35M via established relationships.

Recognized by Delphi Purchasing VP for leading by example and sparking enthusiasm in others to obtain results with cost reduction methodologies of Value Analysis,Value Engineering and LEAN principles. Directed discovery and implementation of $6.8M in cost improvement initiatives within the HVAC, Body computer and instrument cluster product lines. Led closure of the Delphi Plastic molding and stamping Kokomo operations, moving the business to 7 suppliers generating $1,200k/yr in savings. Received Chairman's award for leading a crisis task team in dealing with a suddenly bankrupt major steel stamping supplier. Chaired 3 corporate teams implementing and coaching cost improvement methodologies.

A "go to" project manager for critical programs in crisis that urgently required recovery for desired performance. Led international teams on 14 programs generating $11 to $22M in revenue each with project budgets of $1 to $3M. Always achieved on time production launch and better than budget operating margins. Best case was inheriting a program at -13.3% OI and turning it around to a 24.7% OI contributor. Program customers included Mitsubishi, Saturn, Buick and Chevrolet. Controls typically used a microprocessor control system, high current blower switch, reflow soldering and multi-shot paint and laser or applique appearance features.
