Worked as Additional Member(Works). Before that, held various important positions such as Vice Chairman(Rail Land Development Authority), Advisor(Land and Amenities), Executive Director(Track Modernisation and Construction), Chief Engineer(Construction) etc.As Additional Member (Works) Railway Board I was responsible for planning of all the major projects of Indian Railways including New Lines, Metro Projects, Doubling, Gauge Conversion etc. Work involved framing policies for project identification, project formulation, surveys, preparation of estimates, obtaining the approval of various authorities including parliament, arranging budget for execution and monitoring of the progress.

Handled the Railway Amendment Bill for setting up Rail Land Development Authority from cabinet approval to passing in parliament to framing of rules of working to setting up of the authority.Identified more than 100 sites of Railway land for commercial developmentPrepared feasibility reports of more than 70 sitesPrepared RFQ documents for selecting the developer for 11 major sites, invited the bids and the completed the evaluation process.Finalised the documents for inviting the financial bid, development agreements and selected the developer.Earlier I was responsible for complete management of 4.3 lacs hectare of Railway Land across the country.

1- Project Planning As Director on the Board of Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. I participated in the planning, finalization of tenders and monitoring of progress of Bangalore Metro Project.As Director (perspective planning) Railway Board, I handled preparation of Annual Plans of Railways, Five year Plans and Corporate Plans in respect Civil Engineering projects.As Chief Engineer/Const, Dy Chief Engineer /Const. in the field I handled complete planning for execution of major Railway Projects viz; preparation of tender document and tender schedule, Inviting and finalization of tender and execution of work.As Advisor( Land &Amenities) Railway Board I prepared the documents for finalizing the consultancy contracts for World Class stations through international bidding.2- Public Sector Administration.For five years as Director(PSU) Railway Board I was responsible for all administrative matters with Ministry concerning IRCON & RITES and other PSUs. This included Analysing their Financial and physical performance, Pursuing with various foreign Governments including for obtaining contracts and resolving disputes etc.As OSD in charge of Dedicated Freight Corridor Company Ltd. , I set up the basic organization for implementing the project.As Additional Member (Works) Railway Board I was director on the Board of Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. and Banglore Metro Corporation Ltd. I was convenor of High Level Committee for monitoring the progress of DFCCIL.

Dealing with International Agencies For five years working as Director(PSU) in Railway Board. Between India and other countries for Railway sectorCoordinated Indo Japanese, Indo Algeria Railway Working Group. Organised four meetings of Indo Japan working group and three meetings of Indo Algeria working group. Organized several JICA Studies on IR.Dealt with International funding agencies such as OECF/Japan, ADB and World Bank, for arranging funds for Rail examination of their financial viability.As EDTk(P) Railway Board successfully liased with Canadian Govt. and obtained Grant for procurement for Rails.Global ContractingOn behalf of RITES and IRCON, as Director(PSU), worked for getting Contracts from various International Railways on Government to Government basisAs EDTk in Railway Board finalised several Global tenders for procurement of Rails, Track fittings etc.
