About Richard Pearson

I graduated in 2002 at the University of Sherbrooke in 'Mathematics and Computer Science' program. My carrier started immediately after. I went back to a small but really promising company where I did my last internship: Geo-3D. Geo-3D was a company that was originally developing an airborne system and doing services. It slowly moved to land mobile mapping systems and they were the first to introduce photogrammetry using a single camera. I was hired there as a software developer to work on their Cyclop-3D and Trident-3D products which were targeting airborne and land mapping applications. When I joined the team, the high-end technology was analog video coders. I assisted the transition to numerical cameras and in parallel to this, the race to accurate navigation data.Challenges like working with billion of points, manipulating GIS features, data inseparability, 3D rendering, automation, etc were part of my work days after days with always the same goal: extract the most accurate geographic information (< cm) which are relevant to customers.When I was still working for Geo-3D, we were then acquired by Trimble Navigation in 2006. I worked on the analysis software until 2011 to then switch toward new horizons. Since that moment, I'm still working on data collection systems for which I'm involved in embedded and non-embedded software, and also hardware, development.
