CurrentROBIN RANDALL, FAIA, ALEP, LEED AP BD+C, Principal | Director of LEARNING at Legat Architects, Chicago, leads the national LEARNING practice including PreK-12, Higher ED, and Libraries at Legat Architects. She is dedicated to connecting personally to each project and ensuring the design of every learning environment supports diversity and engages students in a culture of inquisitiveness. By connecting clients to customized design processes and teams, she encourages environmental and budget conscious master planning for each project. Robin's 38 years of experience includes designing and planning award-winning educational centers from early learning through high school, higher education institutions, and libraries including specialty learning environments. Her passion for forward-thinking design pushes the boundaries of sustainability by joining the high expectations of student performance with equally high expectations for building performance. Robin’s academic curiosity led her to be a Fulbright Scholar to Denmark in 1990 and continues today as a guest critic at Judson University, IIT, and Ball State University. She provides inspiration and practical experience through application in sustainable educational design, programming, planning, and research. Robin’s research and mentorship in academia inform her thriving practice and devoted leadership at Legat Architects through Think Tanks, competitions, workshops and evidence-based design projects. She activates teams to perform to their strengths, listening to all stakeholders. Robin holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design and Bachelor of Architecture from Ball State University.
