- Leading a team of 60, had principal responsibility for planning, coordinating and delivering Defence's contribution to London 2012, Olympic and Paralympic Games- Required to demonstrate proven skills in crisis management. Defence's contribution began at 5,000 military personnel in May 2011 and had risen to 18,300 by the start of the Games in part due to the requirement to meet the significant shortfall in venue security personnel from private contractors in the immediate run-up to the Games. Led in the development of the necessary contingency planning to achieve this significant increase in demand on military personnel which was delivered at short notice, on time and to budget- Required close liaison and coordination with the full range of Government Agencies including the Department of Transport and transport for London, in addition to the Emergency Services including the Metropolitan Police- Defence's contribution delivered within the agreed budget and also achieved a 15% saving

United Kingdom

- Had responsibility for the Basic Training of recruits joining the British Army- Reinforced the roles of mentoring and coaching in training, which led to 10% improvement in retention of recruits through training- Undertook close engagement with Further Education colleges including in Birmingham, Hampshire and Cambridgeshire to develop the educational syllabus for the recruits and further improve retention- Oversaw the introduction of Ofsted inspection across the Initial Training Group and achieved the initial target in 2007 of all units achieving an Ofsted assessment of Satisfactory or above
