Kynesim develops and consults on innovative hardware and software to order, mainly for industrial, consumer and medical clients. My particular areas of interest are in architecture and systems programming (I spend a lot of time in the Linux kernel and trying to push the limits of the silicon blocks in microcontrollers).

Involved in several projects for SJ Consulting - a small embedded systems consulting company in Cambridge, including an early DVB PVR, hardware H.264 accelerator, Xilinx DDR memory controller, JTAG test harnesses, and the implementation of VC-1 and WMA codecs on TI64XX DSPs. This included client liason, requirements analysis, some hardware design and delivery and support of developed code.SJ Consulting Ltd was bought by Amino Communications in January 2006.

I spent from October 2001 to October 2003 working on then start-up Transversal's flagship knowledge management product, Metafaq, first as a software engineer and then as product manager, ensuring that the features we'd promised our customers got delivered on time and on budget.

I spent a couple of years working on augmented reality systems - coincidentally enough, a lot of this dealt with video, image capture and image processing.
