More and more small businesses are choosing to use Square, PayPal Here and other mobile point of sale systems (mPOS). These payment solutions are cheaper and easier to use and their cost is more predictable. Although these solutions are great at taking payments, they lack more advanced features such as inventory management and business intelligence. Shopventory provides easy to use sales analytics and inventory management for these payment solutions, enabling small businesses to run and grow more effectively.As co-founder, I do pretty much anything and everything from customer development to core development to making sure our infrastructure is up and running at all times. It's definitely never boring :)

Went through the Techstars Boulder 2013 program with Shopventory.

- partnered with company founder to take over all technology related responsibilities- improved site architecture by using Amazon Web Services to quickly deploy additional infrastructure while keeping costs low- performed integration with third party web services to significantly enhance primary site functionality

- led the team in charge of architecting and implementing a brand new A/B testing and personalization engine for turbotax.com. Worked with key stakeholders across multiple teams to gather rapidly evolving requirements for a very complex system. Leveraged open source technologies (JBoss Drools Expert Rules Engine) as well as the integration of numerous internal and external data sources to create a flexible, maintainable, user-friendly system that allows virtually infinite personalization of a customer's experience on turbotax.com- worked across traditionally fragmented organizations (technical and non-technical) within Intuit to implement key turbotax.com features, including major updates to our e-commerce systems, integrations with internal web services, as well as front end updates to enable new marketing campaigns- worked with multiple external partners, coordinating and executing the technical implementations of key turbotax.com features (e.g. collecting and displaying TurboTax product reviews)- served as a technical advisor to non-technical partners, explaining technical capabilities, limitations, and the reasoning behind project estimates, resulting in more realistic expectations as well as increased willingness to re-negotiate and move back deadlines that were no longer realistic- planned, organized, and coordinated training for the whole team from an external vendor. Performed extensive tutoring of team members prior to vendor training to ensure everyone met the technical prerequisites and would benefit as much as possible from the training. Worked with both vendor and Intuit on-site facilities team to ensure a smooth experience for attendees- led the effort to go from zero to 90%+ unit test coverage on major turbotax.com backend/platform components. Created unit test best practices, established a framework, and influenced the whole team to consistently use it, leading to ongoing improvement in the reliability and maintainability of our code base

- worked on creating a personal asset management service-based product- worked with two other technical co-founders to create the product from scratch and bring it to a beta launch- implemented significant portions of the product as well as managed significant portions of the technical infrastructure required- worked mostly in Python using the Django framework

NeuStar acquired Webmetrics in January 2008.

- Developed, tested, and deployed both frontend and backend software on the GlobalWatch platform, a worldwide monitoring network comprised of a multi-node data processing and reporting system and over 100 monitoring agents distributed in cities around the world- Performed backend development in Perl under a Linux environment and frontend development using a variety of web technologies (HTML/XHTML, CSS, JavaScript)- Co-authored two patents, currently patent pending: System and Method for Sharing Web Performance Monitoring Data (20090106390) and Monitoring Web Service Transactions (20090006614)- Involved in the complete development lifecycle of the Ecosystem Management product which allowed customers to share web performance monitoring data with key stakeholders. Worked with senior management to take the product from vision to concrete requirements and acted as the liaison between the engineering team and all other departments involved (Marketing, QA, Billing), ensuring everything was on track for successful product delivery- Designed and implemented major frontend and backend architecture changes to the platform to add support for new features as well as improve existing ones- Helped the team standardize on the jQuery and jQuery UI frameworks by taking the lead on integrating the frameworks into our codebase as well as creating and providing training materials to the rest of the team- Participated in an ongoing effort to elicit and integrate customer feedback into the product development cycle. Conducted usability sessions with top customers focusing on the areas of the product most used by their organizations - Led the effort to standardize processes and procedures to increase the team’s efficiency and code quality - Bridged communication gaps between product management and the engineering team as soon as they occurred, getting all stakeholders on the same page to ensure smooth product development

- Worked as a developer at Intuit Inc. as part of the Transaction Processing System (TPS) group, which was responsible for developing and maintaining the tax engine included in all of Intuit’s tax products- Worked on LASSIE, an automated build/test/reporting system responsible for compiling and unit testing the TPS source code- Extended and improved the existing system’s web reporting interface- Designed a database for use with the system, as well as a user authentication mechanism, which was then integrated with the web interface and database using Enterprise Java Technologies, including JBoss and JavaBeans

- Member of the Operations Data Management Team, whose responsibilities included ensuring data accuracy and consistency across the company’s internal databases- Designed and developed an application to automate data processing tasks, including searching, sorting, extracting, and organizing data sets from large spreadsheet files and comparing the extracted data sets with database query results to ensure data integrity- Analyzed, fine tuned, and created database queries and reporting schemas allowing for more user friendly database querying and report generation
