• Research assistant to Dr. Kim Nielsen, Physics Professor at Utah Valley University• Received Undergraduate Research Scholarly and Creative Activities Grant of $2000 to study and research the aerodynamic effects of the different nose cone and fin shapes on the flights of high-powered rockets• Studied the pros and cons of 3D printing a fin can, rather than attaching fins using high-strength epoxy• Built a 5 ft tall high-powered rocket from scratch for the research project• Designed and 3D printed a fin can for the research rocket, making it simpler to interchange fin shapes and added greater strength to the fin assembly upon landing• Launched and recovered rocket multiple times during the research to heights of around 4,500 ft• Attained Levels 1 and 2 Tripoli Rocketry Association certifications, and currently working on Level 3 certification
