After serving as an Alderman for six years, I felt I could accomplish more for the City serving as the Mayor. I threw my hat in the ring for the position and won the election. I am now serving my fourth term as Mayor for the City of Winona. The position of Mayor is a two year term.

I wanted to be more involved in the growth and direction of my community and felt serving as an Alderman was one of the best ways to do so.

I manage the outsourcing relationship to ACS for the Residential sector of our business. I also serve as the IT contact for our internal businesses, and do Project Management for IT project such as Email migration, AD migration, Windows 7 deployments and other projects as needed.

I moved into the postion of Data Server Team leader managing the Windows and the Unix admin team. People management was new to me but I quickly found that I liked it. I also knew very little about Unix which gave me more growth opportunities.

An opportunity came up with Trane that offered a broad spectrum of technology opportunities. I was fortunate enough to be hired for an Admin position and thouroughly enjoyed the work. It seemed every few months I learned something new and was able to grow in this position to the point that I was ready to manage the admin team.

Managed Novell and Microsoft servers as well as the campus Exchange system.
