About Ruah Edelstein

Indie, Arthouse animation director and artist, co-founder and creative director at Lumen Animae Studios Los Angeles. Since 2008 I directed and produced over 50 films. Awards include: SIMA in 2020, and Emmy Nomination in 2019. My studio presented work at the US Open Tennis Championship, Holocaust Museum Los Angeles, Museum of Jurassic Technology LA, Shanghai Jewish Refugees Museum, and numerous film festivals internationally, including Sundance and Tribeca. I am on the faculty at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts), teaching film production in the Department of Character Animation since 2012. Most recently I have been a guest artist and lectured at the Film University of Babelsberg in Berlin, Seoul Institute of the Arts in South Korea, SIA Educational Consulting Company in Beijing, and UCLA School of Theater, Film & Television in Los Angeles.
