About Matthew Rubin

My education, experience, and personal interests lie at the intersection of data, government, politics, and geographic information systems (GIS).I earned a Master of Science degree in Data Science from the UVA School of Data Science in 2024. I also graduated magna cum laude from the College of William and Mary in 2023, where I double majored in Government and Data Science (with a concentration in Spatial Data Analytics) and was selected as a Fellow for the William & Mary American Politics Institute.I completed programming language certifications for both Python and R for Data Science. I also have experience working with multiple applications in the fields of political science and geographic information systems. These include ArcGIS, Maptitude for Redistricting, DNC VoteBuilder, NGP VAN, and Dave's Redistricting App.As a 2022 Fellow with the William & Mary American Politics Institute, I participated in a summer internship while studying the origins and extent of political polarization in America.
