WAVES Project is a 501 c (3) non-profit organization working with combat wounded veterans. The WAVES Project works with ALL Military Veterans who have left the military with service connect injuries. The WAVES Project uses the therapeutic values of water and the platform of SCUBA Diving to help our wounded veterans rehabilitate from injuries received while serving their country.Our programs works with any veterans suffering from physical injuries such as amputation, spinal cord injuries, Traumatic Brain Injuries or any wound obtain during their service. The Waves Project also works with veterans suffering from PTSD, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders. Clinical trials conducted by Johns Hopkins and Kennedy Krieger Institute indicates veterans suffering from PTSD show miraculous improvement, with reduction of PTSD symptoms between 80-100% after several dives. The trail should veterans who participated in the program experienced lasting results for a minimum 6 weeks. www.wavesproject.org

The instructor may use training standards and materials provided by the certifying organisation, or may develop suitable training standards, depending on the training system and authority involved. A HSA, (Handicapped SCUBA Assoication) Instructor has taken a crossover course for training and certifying individuals with disabilities. A HSA Instructor understand disabilities and how they relate to diving, as well as various techniques for diving with disabilities. Additionally, the instructor knows how to compensate for the physical inconveniences various disabilities produce.
