I am currently on furlough from a busy independent tapas restaurant and bar in Cambridge. I now have experience waiting tables, pot washing in the kitchen and have received bar training. I can comfortably use a coffee machine and can prepare many cocktails and drinks from memory.

I have held two positions as an ESL tutor, for young Spanish students. This involved planning and preparing lessons, organising activities, and creating fun games. It also required a lot of patience, and reinforcing safeguarding objectives so that both the parents and pupils felt comfortable and secure.

Whilst studying in Spain for a year as part of my degree, I volunteered at an Oxfam charity shop. I was entrusted to; manage the shop alone, open and close for every shift, cash up the till register, and replenish stock when needed. I excelled in providing exceptional customer service even whilst speaking in a foreign language.

I tutored a GCSE student privately in English Literature and Language, through an online company called Tutorful. The pupil’s parents entrusted me with their child’s learning, and I exercised a lot of patience and understanding as the pupil had difficulties with staying focused. I tutored the pupil three hours a week, until the classes were no longer required.

Whilst working as a cashier at Waitrose I was trained in using checkout systems, selling age-restricted items (Think21), and managing self-service checkouts. I also have experience working on the Welcome Desk which involved refilling the coffee machine, taking calls from customers, and collecting ‘Click and Collect’ items from the warehouse. I often helped my supervisors oversee the shop floor by assisting colleagues with queries, handling checkout issues, and replenishing stock on the shelves. I was also trained in cleaning the till area and spillages on the shop floor.
