Hello, my name is Ruby. Currently studying at UWE in Bristol. Growing up in South Devon has been one of the luckiest things for me and has made me aware of the huge importance for protecting nature and the sea. I was always going to study sport because It was the easy option. However, when I travelled to Costa Rica, I realised sport wasn’t my true passion. I became in love with the idea of being a conservationist and helping to protect animals, habitats, and the natural world. In 2018 I studied at Exeter collage for 2 years , where I studied sport science and achieved a Distinction* Distinction*In September 2022 I started university at UWE Bristol studying BSc Wildlife Ecology and Conservation Science. This course is 3 years however I’ve opted for the placement year and hoping to do that abroad,This course has already provided me with knowledge of field work and lab skills and a greater understanding of conversation and ecology.
