It was a privilege, in June 2017, to conceptualize, establish and operationalize the BusinessDevelopment centre at the Lincoln International Business School. This core enterprise unit carriesthe mandate of brand reputation, marketing and sales, external partnerships and importantly externalincome diversification. Reporting to the Pro VC, I focus on creating deep partnerships with Industry andlinking them to to the academic asset of the University. Relationships with local industry are a core partof our duty as a Civic University, extend to UK-wide accounts and Internationally with key partnershipsfor recruitment from new markets across the world especially in high growth regions - India, Middle Eastand Africa.Achieving a turnover in excess £25 million via this Enterprise Centre has been possible with deepinternal collaborations in a highly matrix organization and relationships based on trust and respectwith the Industry. The team works closely with the private sector, vast public sector, professional organizations like CIPD and not-for-profit organizations. I am especially proud of out width and depth of Military relationships, having won, in Jan 2020, the single largest Royal Navy contract of Selbourne, as a part Capita led consortium, for £1.2bn, which triggered the establishment of the Defence Engagement Group at the University which is now a thriving business centre.As a member of the College Leadership Team I influence and lead on key accreditations like the SmallBusiness Charter (SBC), AACSB and the QS Rankings. I use my interest in speaking to represent theUniversity at various platforms in person and on the radio, TV. In 2022, given the current global climate,my focus is on Government initiatives and funds, supporting industry recovery and funding key skillsthat are needed to create sustainable organizations.The intersection of business, academia and power of technology is an exciting place to be with theability to create new futures.

As an advisor and member of board of this national UK wide charity, I lean in to leverage my experience and network for the benefit of Lincolnshire County. Cash for Kids is a national organization which supports children and young people affected by poverty, abuse, neglect, life-limiting illness and those who have additional needs.

The EGC is the central department and hub for diversity and inclusion at the University of Lincoln. Set up in 2015 to ensure that EDI work across the University via research and debate was developed and supported in a holistic and coordinated way, I was invited to be on the board to ensure impact created is industry relevant and value adding.

As Director for Microsoft India’s strategy & marketing, my role was a critical lever in the effort towards transformation of the channel partner ecosystem of managed partners especially the top 100 Corporate Accounts, accounting for significant revenues. As a mentor and guide to creating sustainable models of Capacity, Capability and Commitment, I drove a heavy focus on business growth success via leveraging the power of digital transformation and seamless customer journey. With a focus on innovative marketing and building skills in the network, I generated a high ROI on marketing spend, creating success and goodwill for the organization and partners. Business was driven via trust and deep partnerships. As lead for large Microsoft Partner Summits 2013, 2015 in India and the US, my task was to engage with over 500 key partner leaders each year and follow through to their business impact and ROI. I was honoured to be invited to the Middle East to share learnings and train the team based in Dubai. I took a keen in interest in Diversity and Inclusion as a Microsoft Council member and was a designated trained facilitator on the Women Leadership skill development initiative. Comviva is a global leader in the mobile VAS space, with a focus on emerging markets and is a Tech Mahindra company. As head of this global marketing function, my role was to plan and deliver all aspects of Corporate marketing with a focus on high growth markets – Africa, LatAm and South Asia. Leading a team of 8 globally located professionals, we created a digital engagement model, thereby creating a customer community across 22 developing economies - primarily Africa and LatAm. We value added by introducing strategic business planning with 5 key Markets and Framework accounts, resulting in direct business benefit; measured in terms of growth of revenue in focus regions; delivered via a Regional Marketing structure. Comviva was the only Indian VAS player to have achieved 95% + dominance in relevant industry stories in key media.

Scottish Rugby is the national governing body for Rugby in Scotland. The reach, footprint and impact of the role was high and came with large functional and budgetary responsibility. In addition to formulating marketing strategy for all levels of rugby in the country, the role acted as an internal consultant to the Pro teams and commercial businesses like retail and hospitality. Most enjoyable stint. Relocated to India in July 2010.

Really enjoyed my stints on the radio - both in India and the UK. Did both on a part -time basis, leading my shows with information, content and business matters. Used both English and Hindi in programming. Voted Best Presenter at Awaz FM, Glasgow 2002.

A central Marketing Service function, this role acted as an internal consultant to five lines of business across the US and Europe. Led a team to deliver innovative Lead Management strategies via a strong understanding of International business and the building of a corporate brand. The global nature of the assignment and end-to-end project experience made it an invaluable stint.

A high profile global healthcare company. Challenge was to take contact lenses out of the serious ‘medical device’ domain, to a confidence led consumer ‘lifestyle’ arena while reinforcing key benefits. Held direct responsibility for strategy and product development of high value contact lenses, marketed on an FMCG model. Assignment was a perfect balance between strategic planning and execution.

Was great being a part of the then sunrise industry, telecom services. As part of the brand team, I worked on the launch of India's first pre-paid service, called SPEED. It required a great deal of cross team collaboration and real time customer feedback. Was a privilege to have worked on that launch. Additionally was in charge of a few territories within NCR for Corporate and Individual sales of service packs, all inclusive with handsets. Looking back it seems like it was a different world - with handsets that were the size of bricks and antenna on phones that would go out a foot long to catch any signals! And call charges? Don't even get me started....
