I am a dedicated neuroscience researcher with a robust background in biomedicine and advanced immunology. I earned my degree in Biomedicine from the University of Lleida (UdL), where I completed internships at the Cell Culture Service at the Biomedical Research Institute of Lleida (IRBLleida) and the Genetics of Parkinson’s group at the August Pi i Sunyer Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBAPS). During my final degree project, I worked with mouse models of Spinal Muscular Atrophy, gaining expertise in mouse handling, immunohistochemistry, and confocal microscopy.In 2018, I completed a master’s degree in Advanced Immunology at the University of Barcelona (UB) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB). My master’s project at the Clinical Neuroimmunology group in the Multiple Sclerosis Center of Catalonia (CEMCAT) and the Vall d’Hebron Research Institute (VHIR) provided training in molecular biology and cell cultures, including primary and immortalized cell lines. Additionally, I completed a course on Training Research Staff Users of Animals for Experimentation and other Scientific Ends, offered by UAB and FELASA.I recently completed my PhD in Medicine at the Clinical Neuroimmunology group at CEMCAT and VHIR. My doctoral research focused on elucidating the effects of chitinase-3 like 1 (CHI3L1) on neurons, using human induced pluripotent stem cell (hiPSC)-derived neuronal cultures from patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS). Through this research, I developed advanced skills in culturing hiPSC-derived neurons, confocal microscopy, automated image analysis, and calcium imaging. I also gained extensive experience in molecular biology techniques such as qPCR, western blotting, and transcriptomic analyses. My work involved comprehensive bioinformatic analyses, which enhanced my abilities in data analysis, experimental design, and scientific writing.I am particularly interested in studying neurodegenerative pathogenic mechanisms involving central nervous system cells, hiPSCs, and neuroinflammation.
