Environmental Specialist at Baltimore-Washington International Airport. Main duties included oversight of best management practices for airplane deicing activities and neutralization of waste fluid based on the results of laboratory tests. Other duties included inspections of oil-water separators, surface water sample collection, stormwater structure inspections in support of MS4 permits, and preparation of technical reports.

Corps member for the National Civilian Community Corps. A tenth month term of service in the Southwest, split into three project rounds. The first project round involved roof replacement and home improvements for low income seniors in the Oklahoma City area. The second project round consisted of flood recovery in Estes Park, Colorado; including debris removal and construction improvements on damaged homes. The third round I was a member of the fire management team. I was trained by the US Forest Service in S130, S190, and S212: wildland firefighting, basics of firefighting, and wildland chainsaws. I participated in fire mitigation tactics including felling trees, digging fire line, and serving as an on-call Type II hand crew personnel for a fire crew. Completed over 1800 hours of service in ten months.

I worked on a variety of projects including: well inspections, law enforcement follow-up on water appropriation issues, GPS coordinate capture, and compilation of a database for all Maryland water systems. Edited the annual groundwater report which was submitted to the Maryland General Assembly, House Speaker, and Senate President.
