Tooth Segmentation for 3D Mandibular Meshes • Developed a mesh segmentation algorithm that removes the dentition area for mandibular meshes.• Designed and implemented a contour modification user interface embedded in ArtiSynth, a Java-based environment.• Collaborated with an oral surgeon, a dentist, and research assistants at Vancouver General Hospital. • Worked in a team of five that assists virtual surgical planning for mandible reconstructive surgeries.Computer Graphics Modeling• Learned and implemented geometric modeling algorithms (loop scheme for mesh subdivision, surface simplification using quadric error metrics, as-rigid-as-possible mesh deformation) using C++.• Developed and implemented a surface remeshing tool (mesh refinement/coarsening and smoothing).
