Built Tools to measure RDC Productivity by product / employee using Warehouse Scangun data.Developed logic to automate SDC outbound load building process.Identified problems impacting the measurement and planning outbound loads that were costing millions annually in lost utilization and worked with data owners to correct.Identified numerous (20+) separate problems the ETL layer between WMS systems and EDW that were hiding operational problems and impacting reporting.

When I… Show more This position is partitioned into three roles:1) Maintenance / Upgrades of Access Databases that run sales events totaling more than 1 Billion in sales annually.A) This event database consists of over 100 pages of VBA code, and has currently been split into between 3 and 5 databases for each event due to the two gigabyte restriction of Microsoft Access.B) As the events have grown in size they have also grown in complexity (and number of supporting databases). When I inherited the tool it could only handle a single sku / distribution channel / buypack. I rebuilt the entire tool from beginning to end in order to build as many unique distribution methods as they need for a single sku to maximize efficiency. After this I rebuilt it again to allow shipping multiple waves by forecasting demand to provide JIT shipments while minimizing lost sales. This increased sales, efficiency, and inventory turns.C) The database has become difficult to maintain due to a number of factors that largely boil down to size restrictions on Access, performance and corruption issues as a result of storage on a network drive, and less than ideal architecture due to both access restrictions and serial developments (bolted on rather than integrated into). As a result I have leveraged these issues in order to get management to fund a SQL server and am currently rebuilding the tool with a backend database that is user friendly, efficient, secure, and non-fragmented. I have rebuilt all the connections to other EDW systems including Teradata and IBM. I am currently 30% complete rebuilding a replica of current tool using SQL server back end. The biggest gain is the fact that form buttons that took multiple hours before run in less than a minute due to the performance gain of SQL server and improved architecture.2) Maintenance / Upgrades / automation of weekly reports disseminated to leadership.3) Ad Hoc tool building / ResearchI do way more than room allows. Opportunity quantifies the amount of savings that would be achieved if a product with high damage or returns was improved to the average of like products. -Built a quality dashboard containing 2 + current years of data for all 20K+ privately branded products and a minimum of 13 months of data for more than 300K+ products using the new RTV report.The RTV dashboard includes: 1) Plots of long term sales, return to vendor, and damage trends on a month by month for all products2) Opportunity for all products on a rolling 12, 3, and 1 month basis to target areas where return on investment can be maximized. 3) All data can be cut by vendor, brand, or product group( sku,class etc) at the push of a button allowing quick data processing that anyone can use.4) Created Early Warning System which linked together the 12 and 3 month product information to highlight products experiencing delines in performance.-Investigated the online customer comment database and developed reports to pull all product reviews in a grain that would support dashboarding. -Updated current tools to include online ratings information and developed new standalone Online Review dashboard that allowed large scale data analysis with capability to Drill Down to actual customer comments. This standalone dashboard includes all of the functionality of the RTV Dashboard above.-Created and shared Microstrategy report to pull RTV comments in mass by Vendor, Sku, Subclass, Class, and Time.-Created a tool to Word-Map customer return comments to failure modes. Working with corporate SAP team to develop dashboards that are effective at the corporate, division, and plant level in order to minimize required data processing.-Responsible for the implementation, auditing, modernization, and standardization of the quality management system.-Discovered means by which field issues could be tied back to the cells that built them in mass so that it is possible to report against the cell or pareto field issues by workcell.-Updated out of box audit process to improve the ability to collect data without increasing cycletime.-Now able to calculate outgoing PPM by cell level, material level, brand, and by auditor.-Implemented changes to scrap process so that the reason for the scrap is captured in a reportable format. -This now allows us to address issues related to process in addition to product and look for common cause at a factory and not just a material level. I developed training and standard work on this process and trained all the 6 core facilities on how to open these quality records, use the system to generate and complete 8ds, and how to report on these issues. As a result of the completed rollout of the Supplier QN process we began to report PPM by supplier, across division, and across the entire corporation. I worked with our corporate EBS team on how we calculate PPM, what information is included, and every month calculate this PPM and provide that data to the corporate site. I serve as point of contact for sourcing when there are questions about this data and what is driving the PPM number for vendors.As an improvement to our supplier quality initiative I developed an incoming inspection process using SAP inspection lots module. With the implementation of that tool we were able to reduce headcount in the department while improving service levels.I would get the largest and most complex jobsites that had issues to track the problem, diagnose the cause(s) either over the phone or by flying to the site, rebuild the customer's goodwill, rectify the jobsite complaint and then work with internal teams to prevent recurrence.
