Uplands was founded in 1955 by the International Planters Association of Penang in Malaysia as an independent boarding school in the British tradition. It is now a prestigious K – 13 day and boarding school catering for 900 children of families of Malaysian business owners and state royalty. Fleetwood High School is a modern comprehensive secondary school in Fleetwood, on the Fylde Coast in Lancashire, UK. The Overseas Family School in Singapore is privately owned and divided into three distinct schools: Elementary, Middle and High. The school caters for 3000 students. It is one of the most popular choices for expatriate families living in Singapore and consequently one of the largest. It offers the IB Diploma as its main matriculation course, but also offers alternatives including Australian qualifications leading to an ATAR for students wish to study at tertiary level in Australia. The position at OFS was an unsolicited offer made to Alan based on his reputation as a skilled IB educator. St Paul’s Collegiate is an elite private school (founded in 1959) governed by the Anglican Church in Hamilton, New Zealand.
