I gratefully accepted an invitation from the BYU finance faculty to be the president of the 3.5 million dollar student-lead equity portfolio known as Silver Fund, this is part of the larger BYU endowment and has been in existence since 1984. As president, I was responsible for the format and direction of the investment process and delegation of responsibilities and due diligence to 15 MBA students. Our goal is to generate alpha and provide compelling risk-adjusted returns in a long-only large-cap equity portfolio, while simultaneously cultivating an environment that allows the students to obtain as much knowledge and experience in capital markets as possible.
