I was responsible for the successful sale, design and delivery of Capgemini’s Intelligent Workplace offering into a medium sized utility company (headcount circa 4500). This major programme (TCV £m+ over 12 months) was one of the customers largest (and successful) IS/IT programmes and was delivered using both rightshore and UK based staff. This major programme (TCV £m+ over 12 months) was one of the customers largest (and successful) IS/IT programmes and was delivered using both rightshore and UK based staff. Whilst delivered under the banner of ‘Intelligent Workplace’ we transformed the majority of the IT infrastructure (19 technical work streams) including; desktop, server, user and application virtualisation (Citrix, VMWare, AppSense, App-V), WAN Optimisation (Citrix), Messaging, File & Print, and Storage and Backup. Although ambitious, we were able to deliver many of the goals, including converting 2/3rds of the desktop service to thin clients, by means of a combination of Server Based Computing (SBC) and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
