I coordinated the team responsible for the Analytical Facilities of the Jundiaí branch of Henkel, whose goal is to develop new analytical methodologies for the products in the company’s portfolio. The main techniques employed in the laboratory were thermal analyses and chromatography, used to obtain as much information as possible about the adhesives that the company produced.I trained and supervised three interns, one of which the company hired after one year. As Product Safety Analyst, I was responsible for studying the formulation of the company’s products and assessing whether they comply with various national Food Contact Regulations (such as FDA, ANVISA, MERCOSUR, DSL and NDSL, and others). I was in charge of preparing the Food Contact Statements according to our customers’ needs. When a team was created to take on this responsibility, I stayed on during the transition to train and capacitate the employees. I am up-to-date on the changes in the regulations that are most important to our products and customers, and I am aware of the trends for the Brazilian legislation, in order to inform the PD team of possible changes that may affect their work.

As a member of the team responsible for the Analytical Facilities, I was in charge of conducting analyses of the company’s products in order to obtain one or more of its characteristics. During the internship, I studied the cure kinetics of polyurethane adhesives via DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), a project that earned me the prize of third best intern that year.I have experience in various instrumental analysis that I used to support the Research and Development and Technical Customer Support teams. Some of the techniques I worked with were TGA (Thermogravimetric Analysis), DSC (Differential Scanning Analysis), GC/MS-MS (Tandem Gas Chromatography), FTIR (Fourier Transformed Infrared), and others.

I participated in an innovative research to identify Citrus Greening in asymptomatic orange trees. I was responsible for obtaining data using techniques such as: LIBS and Fluorescence Imaging (LIF) obtained by Ultraviolet and Blue wavelength (473nm) stimulation. Our group presented the results obtained in Brazilian and international symposiums, and we published articles in renowned journals in the field.
