When I was a kid, I’d spend hours with my dad in the basement tinkering and experimenting. I’d help him test vacuum tubes and solder damaged components to repair old television sets. We’d work for days to build intricate model cars, then blow them up with firecrackers behind protective plexiglass shields. It was a damp, dusty cellar to everyone else, but to me it was a playground of learning and discovery.On my days off from school I’d go to work with my mom. She was a nurse in an adult day program for seniors with mental health diagnoses. I’d help run art programs, take walks with clients, and play cards or board games. Primarily, I was there to support and listen – to help create a safe space free of judgement and anxiety.I see these experiences as the cornerstones of my current job leading a team of highly talented business and digital athletes. I love working with intellectually curious analysts dedicated to creating great customer experiences, experimenting to solve problems, and who aren’t afraid to break some stuff to learn how to make it better.I consider myself a servant leader who strives to coach people to their fullest ability.
