• HTML 5 Web ApplicationLead developer on project to port an Adobe Flex based web application to HTML5 using Typescript and Angular 4 as the development tools. Highlights of my work include: Prototyped graphical representations using the JavaScript D3 (Data Driven Documents) library. Prototypes include a Sunburst wheel, a dependency wheel and a Sankey graph. Implemented Corepoint’s interactive Data Flow graph using yWorks yFiles HTML library (see experience 2012-2014 for related .NET implementation). Application load time reduced from 10 seconds to 1 second by implementing lazy loading of modules and making use of Angular’s AOT (Ahead of Time compilation). o 50-90% reduction in amount of data sent from a SignalR feed to clients.

Integrated yFiles .NET graphing library into the Corepoint Configuration application.Design and implementation of this significant feature all done single-handedly (with testing aid from one QA engineer).This is one of the key lead features of Corepoint’s 6.0 release.Resolved a significant performance issue in the ActionScript code. Specific example of runtime was reduced from 135 seconds to 10 seconds.Developed a new HTML5 ASP.NET MVC Web application written using Ext.Net/Ext JS taking advantage of Store/Proxy/GridPanel classes and several other technologies in Ext JS.

I provided leadership to 2 other engineers on the Flash Pro team. Most recently I was the lead engineer for the effort to provide HTML 5 output from Flash Pro for the CS 6 release. To accomplish this, we integrated 2 libraries developed in other parts of Adobe and built "guardrails" to guide the user intuitively in the use of the new publish target.

Individual contributor, working in areas of Text display on the Flash Pro stage, Text export to various formats including SWF, import of Illustrator native files, helped develop Text Layout Framework (an ActionScript based text engine known commonly as TLF), integrated TLF into Flash Pro. I worked on the versions of Flash Pro spanning from Adobe CS 3 through CS 6 (5 major versions).

During this time I did several entrepreneurial activities including: day trading, private investments, started a software company (Virtuoso Software), and ran the Operations of a small company while I considered it as an investment.

Held several different titles: Software Engineer, Product Manager, Senior Software Architect, and finally Senior Director New Product Development. I worked on Aldus/Macromedia FreeHand for versions 1-8 and was the engineering manager for multiple releases. I also led a team to create an accessory to FreeHand called EPS Exchange which converted FreeHand documents to/from Illustrator. I led a team to develop Shockwave for FreeHand, a Netscape plugin which would natively display/zoom FreeHand content. In my last role as Senior Director of New Product Development I conducted research with regards to opportunities, and whether we should develop internally or acquire companies to do so. In 1995, Macromedia purchased the privately held company, Altsys Corporation and I was a part of the management team that led the transition.
