Laboratory Technician
CurrentTesting of new oil blends, additives, used and aged oils and crude oil, for use in a variety of fields including commercial engines, hydraulic systems and passenger cars.Tests included flash point detection, foaming characteristics, viscosity and pour point, acid and base number titration all used to evaluate the quality of the sample that had been presented for testing.Formation of reports of results for business partners.Coordinating with other departments to ensure the highest quality of results.Presenting information to partners from both internal and external businesses as well as the higher management from within my own company. These include the use of power point and large display posters, which I format. Designated Department Trainer responsible for the training of new members of the team. This includes the monitoring of their performance, by overseeing their working procedures, and the reporting of results. I am also tasked with helping new team members become familiar with the workings of the company.Participating in special projects to improve the work being completed with the labAs part of the routine operations of the lab I am required to work to international standards including ASTM and ISO. As well as work in compliance with ISO17025.Investigating issues that may arise to continually improve the service that is on offer both from the lab as a whole and from an individual stand point
