Ruth is a cultural producer and creative educator drawn to alternative ways of seeing, thinking and doing. She has designed creative and inclusive initiatives for schools, universities, festivals and the wider community - programs that act as catalysts for positive change. Ruth’s inquisitive and real world approach led her to develop ITCH [ideas that change horizons], an ideas platform located in Perth. Over the course of this initiative, she directed a series of interdisciplinary events at the intersection of art, science, humanities and technology.Ruth’s teaching roles within schools and colleges have included Performing Arts Coordinator, Music, Drama and Dance Specialist. She has presented, advised, adjudicated and written for national arts and education bodies such as ACARA, Ausdance, ASME, Department of Culture and the Arts, Learning Environments Australasia and Catholic Arts.Ruth’s accolades include a State Service and Leadership Award with ACHPER, a nomination for the National Excellence in Teaching Award, being a Finalist in WA Dance Awards while directing highly awarded performances for youth. Ruth draws inspiration from her three school aged children whom embody the fullness of creativity and enquiry.
