The Department of City Planning (DCP) is crucial in shaping the City's physical and socioeconomic landscape, with a current particular focus on enhancing its resilience. As a summer intern at the Brooklyn office, I am contributing to this mission by working on the coastal resiliency plan for sites in Coney Island and Wallabout.

LEAP, or Leaders in Environmental Advocacy at Pratt, is a collective of graduate students dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions for social challenges in New York City and beyond. Our organization hosts an array of events and activities, ranging from networking sessions and panel discussions to volunteer opportunities and interactive workshops.As an event planner for LEAP, my responsibility is conceptualizing, planning, and executing a variety of sustainability-focused events and activities.

NYC-EJA actively engages students, including myself, by placing us in collaboration with one of its Member Organizations. In my case, I have the privilege of working with The Point CDC, an organization wholeheartedly committed to fostering both economic and environmental revitalization in the Hunts Point area of the South Bronx. My role within this organization involves actively contributing to the research and development of an essential coastal resiliency project.
