WHPR’s Corporate PR Practice specialises in reputation management, stakeholder engagement, event management and crisis communications for a broad cross-section of clients from financial; insurance; aviation; legal; technology; energy and telecommunications sectors.We work with a number of Irish and international companies and our experience with clients includes results announcements, annual general meetings, annual reports, corporate events, photo calls and other key company developments.We also work with clients on any crisis and/or issues management they may be undergoing.Media relations and engagement is also a key part of our work within the Corporate Practice at Wilson Hartnell.

2007 – Present: Tom Flood Bookmakers (full and part time)•Senior employee: deputise for manager frequently during absences. Work in all branches. •Taking and paying out betting slips, liaising with customers and staff members, organise rosters.•Work frequently in the company’s Head Office; has involved devising and creating new promotions, for example “Money Back” specials on various football matches, feature horse races, racing festivals and Rugby World Cup 2011. •Designed templates to promote various special offers that featured on the screens in all branches.•Carry out a number of administrative tasks on a general basis.

Subjects: Public Relations Writing, Radio and Television, Print and Design, Electronic PR, Grammar, The Marketing Environment, Business Environment (incorporating presentation skills), Finance and Legal Studies.Thesis: “Weathering the storm: Evaluation of Crisis Management Strategies and Tactics of a number of major Irish transport companies during the recent weather and ash cloud emergencies” (Provisional Title).•In-depth evaluation and comparison of various Irish transportation companies’ communication strategies and crisis management plans during times of recent severe weather events.•Conducting interviews with a variety of companies and authorities to evaluate their crisis communication strategies.•Evaluation of their crisis management strategies and suggestions for possible improvements.Tactical Project: Political Road Safety campaign; Implementation of “Brendan’s Law”.•Campaign to for improved legislation; if a person under the influence of alcohol or drugs causes a serious accident, their licence should be confiscated at the scene until they appear in court. Also a ruling to enforce mandatory sentencing of drink driving offences.•Involved in the public relations campaign with Nick Flynn; working on layout and details of legislation, collecting names for the petition through social media and traditional media, beginning to promote the campaign on a national level to raise awareness on the issue and gather political support.
