I lead multi-disciplinary teams in M-CO, specialising in designing and delivering public engagement to inform policies, programmes and infrastructure development. I combine specialist knowledge in sustainability and behaviour change with practical skills in co-design, qualitative research and creative communications.

Since completing my PhD I have been developing publications, summary documents and media articles on Consensus's research on sustainable consumption. I manage the Consensus project communications and recently re-designed the Consensus website and directed a series of short animations on our research (see: www.consensus.ie). Since January 2014 I have been working on Phase 2 of the Consensus project. This involves collaborating with a number of corporate, public and non-governmental partners to trial social and technical innovations for sustainable household water consumption. These will be evaluated in 'HomeLab' ethnographic research with Irish householders focusing on effective interventions for behaviour change along with identifying commercial and policy spin-off activities. Throughout my postdoctorate I have been involved in undergraduate teaching and lecturing on sustainable development.

My PhD research was within the broad field of social science, focusing on sustainable household consumption (specifically on water and energy). It was part of an all-Ireland, EPA-funded research project (www.consensus.ie). The research adopted a 'participatory backcasting' approach aimed at the collaborative design of future scenarios containing social and technical innovations for more sustainable household consumption. These scenarios were used to develop long-term transition plans containing ideas for education, policy, business and R&D. The research was also used as the basis for an exhibit at the 'Future of Water' exhibition in the Science Gallery Dublin and in the EyeBeam Art & Technology Centre, New York (http://sciencegallery.com/surfacetension/waterwise/)

During my PhD research I guest lectured on undergraduate courses on environmental governance. I also designed and delivered undergraduate seminars on sustainable consumption. These outlined key issues and responses within policy, business and citizen sectors. The seminars also taught skills in academic research, writing and presentation skills.

While living in San Francisco I was a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Science, Policy and Management in UC Berkeley. While there, I collaborated with fellow research staff and delivered lectures on sustainable consumption and production to undergraduates.

Creative Green is a consultancy specialising in research and strategy development within the sustainability sector. We use qualitative and creative research processes to develop unique insights for our clients. We have conducted research for large-scale renewable energy providers in Ireland, developing consultation strategy and energy awareness campaigns. (www.creativegreen.ie)

My work with RPS involved developing and delivering environmental awareness campaigns and public consultation programmes. I worked on national awareness campaigns such as CHANGE (climate change) and Notice Nature (biodiversity), collaborating with a range of public and private actors to develop practical initiatives. I was involved in managing public consultation for key national infrastructure projects including the EirGrid North-South Interconnector and the Dublin Transportation Office (DTO) 2030 Vision Strategy.
