Experienced strategy and policy professional, who has shaped UK policy in the field of cyber security and online crime, both from within and outside Government. As a Member of Parliament I focused on analysing the issues that are fundamental to the UK’s national security, identifying solutions to improve our position and working to bring about the legislative changes needed. In particular, I looked at the development of AI and its impact on our digital security, supply chain security – for critical minerals and advanced semi-conductors, energy security, disinformation, the rise of hostile state operations in the cyber domain and the talent pool available to the UK to counter it. My career spans both industry and government, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of how public policies influence market dynamics and vice versa. I have a proven track record of collaborating with senior executives and stakeholders to translate complex issues into actionable insights. My analytical approach and passion for problem-solving enable me to craft strategies that address broader market opportunities, adapt legal frameworks to digital advancements, and drive local investment and job creation.A strong communicator, who specialises in stakeholder management and relationship building, including in fraught and difficult situations and under the media spotlight.
