Areas of particular interest include Community Safety ( I Chair the South Notts Community Safety Partnership and I'm the Hate Crime Champion for Nottinghamshire); Governance and Ethics ( I was part of the CIPFA/SOLACE working group that developed the new governance framework);Legal issues( qualified as a Solicitor in 1984, still maintain my practising certificate , background in Child Care and Planning litigation);and Planning- helped to establish the Greater Nottingham Joint Planning Advisory Board which developed the Core Strategies aligned across our 7 local authority housing market area which won the EMRTPI "Plan of the Year" accolade in 2014). Passionate about social justice , Africa ( NED and Chair of the AIM Ltd Europe mobilising Board) and giving back (NED and Company Secretary of Solace In Business Ltd).
