Kenilworth, Queensland, Australia

Co-lead two separate groups of Hong Kong teenagers for 3.5 weeks through a rites of passage, experiential learning outdoor programme. Focused on helping the teenagers to push themselves out of their comfort zone through providing new ideas and areas of discussion. Put a strong focus on how to recognise, accept and work on personal and team strengths and weaknesses. Guided the students to at first get through a day of hiking, canoeing or mountain biking. Then collaborated to build their confidence to complete a five day multi activity expedition. Through out a strong focus was put on debriefing, coping mechanisms and setting goals for their future selves to work towards on return to Hong Kong. Worked closely with all staff to provide an unforgettable experience for these students.

Vietnam

Lead a team of Vietnamese camp counsellors, logistics and operations staff to execute week long outdoor summer camps for Vietnamese children and teens. At times shared locations with other camp directors so worked closely together to utilise the correct distribution of staff and resources to ensure the seamless concurrent running of both camps. Responsible for the daily delivery of lessons and presentations based on the importance of hard and soft skills.

United Arab Emirates

Provided a wide range of outdoor activities for families, adults and schools across the UAE. Lead treks in the desert and mountains and brought school children hiking, climbing and kayaking in Oman. Lead and assessed Duke of Edinburgh adventurous journeys all over the UAE. Provided the local on the ground knowledge and navigation for a 100km charity hike and drove the support vehicles for a charity cycling event crossing all 7 emirates in four days.

Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland

Provided a thrilling experience on the water for novice kayakers. Ensured utmost safety at all times and passed on kayaking skills to clients to enable skill progression throughout each session. Created an engaging, informative and fun tour for people of all ages around the sea cliffs of Dingle bay.

Leenane, County Mayo, Ireland

Lead adventurous outdoor activities for children, teens and adults. Activities included gorge walking, cliff jumping, stand up paddle boarding, orienteering and archery. Created and designed a 5 day evening programme manual for the company to use to ensure consistency in the programmes they offer.

Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland

Spent a few months in two different primary schools during this time. Worked as learning support and as a substitute teacher for all ages across both schools assisting in class and out. Designed and delivered a programme to children with English as a second language to help progress their confidence while speaking, as well as their comprehension skills. Also created an after school sports club lead through the Irish language to enable children to practice speaking Irish without any pressure.

Worked as a supply teacher filling various roles across schools through out Melbourne over a six month period. My role changed daily and I spent time working in special education schools, kindergartens and mainstream primary and secondary schools.

Ballarat, Victoria, Australia

Worked as an outdoor instructor for summer and winter camp at Cave Hill Creek. Delivered hard top camp experiences to children and teenagers in Victoria leading activities such as bouldering, high wires, canoeing and raft building.

Da Nang City, Vietnam

Taught an international curriculum to Grade 1 and 2 Vietnamese students. Differentiated instruction and support for each student in the subjects of English, ICT and Social studies. Kept in regular contact with parents through Class Dojo and a classroom mascot. Collaborated with teachers and staff to develop school-wide projects to enhance a more organised curriculum in social studies. Assessed and analyzed student progress on a regular basis throughout the year.

Responsible for the organization and running of an exciting & challenging outdoor based, English language focused programme for children and teenagers across Vietnam. Worked with both international and local staff leading to a shared collaboration of cultures.

Logistics manager for a residential summer programme catering to international students who travelled to learn English in the UK. Each week the students took part in classes and sports as well as excursions in and around London. I held the responsibility for the organisation of a seamless collection and drop off system requiring multiple staff in various airports at once. Alongside this I was also responsible for catering numbers and the organisation of transport for all excursions over the course of the programme.

New York State

Played a key role in creating a fun, inclusive and exciting environment for groups of teenagers and children over two separate summers. Taught daily classes such as swimming, archery and outdoor cooking as well as leading multi day hiking trips in the Adirondack mountains and across lake George.
