My role means I regularly liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, engaging and collaborating with colleagues and SLT, students, parents, external organisations, local businesses and Further and Higher Education establishments. I provide all admin support to the careers and work experience programmes and am first point of contact for these. I am proactive in providing support to the Careers Lead with planning, developing and implementing the academy CEIAG programme and I co-ordinate the work experience programme. I source, organise and facilitate careers and work-related events, talks and visits in liaison with local and national organisations.I provide impartial, targeted 1-2-1 advice for students and support with applications for further education or apprenticeships and organise, track and record careers guidance meetings with an external Careers Adviser.My additional role as Transition Officer entails ensuring all Year 11 students have a suitable destination in place when they leave the academy; providing ongoing support for Year 11 and Year 13 vulnerable students at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment, Training), attending Annual Review meetings and liaising with Slough Children First where applicable.I update the careers resources libraries, provide careers related content for TLA newsletters and social media as well as the Careers webpages on the academy website.

Provided support, advice and guidance to young people aged between 11 to 19 who had personal/family issues around substance misuse. This included providing holistic therapies where suitable, 1-2-1 support in key worker sessions, liaising with Connexions, Social Services, Police and schools. Delivering drugs and alcohol education to young people in schools and college as part of the Hype team.
