Curently I am a Senior Library Assistant working in the Greenwich area of London. Helping people find information and empowering them to use basic computer skills for searching computerised databasesDeveloping and using databases and information systems to catalogue and access informationKeeping up-to-date records of circulation, materials, maintaining inventory and correcting catalogue errorsOrganising and distributing reference materials and information, checking materials in and out of the library for patronsChecking books and other materials in and out of the library. I also love to read.Respiratory and Lung Administrator. Typing clinic letters, answering telephone enquiries, relaying messages to the team, communicating with patients regarding times of CT/appointments/prescriptions, making follow-up appointments, booking face to face/ telephone translator service for patients attending clinic, booking patient transport, sending images across to other hospitals using an in-house online service, being warm, organised and friendly.I previously worked as an Administrator within the NHS. This job then evolved to a medical secretarial position which I thoroughly enjoyed. During my time with the Respiratory team, I completed and gained a Level 2 Award in Medical Terminology with Merit, which enabled me to excel and redefined my purpose within the team.With 7 years medical secretary experience , I have experience of medical terminology. I successfully prioritised my workload liaising with Respiratory Consultants. I also typed very urgent verbal dictation, which took place on a regular basis. At many times covering the workload of other secretaries who were absent.I responded to correspondence from other hospitals which included typing very complex letters. I am proficient in my computer skills, and I type accurately in excess of 50 wpm. When formatting documents, I designed an Word form, which was used by the team to make appointments for patients to book a CT scan.My work was confidential whereby patients attending an appointment sometimes had to be updated on the same day. They would then visit my office where I relayed the updated information to the patient from the consultant.I frequently worked unsupervised answering all telephone calls, prioritising workload and post. I take pride in my work and enjoy being a valuable member of the team.
