Recent projects include:- for a major outdoor retailer in Canada, Marr Consulting International lead the senior management team through a process to examine whether the company should enter the adventure travel realm, and if so, how and when. This included an assessment of markets, competition, financial aspects, with the creation of a clear vision of what was possible and appropriate, and the means to achieve this at some point in the future. - coordinating consultant for all aspects of the City of Winnipeg Active Transportation- Infrastructure Stimulus Project, a $20 Million initiative involving 35 seperate projects, totally 100 km of infrastructure. All of it needs to be designed (including public consultation) and built in one year- concept development and creation of the Green Your Business: Toolkit for Tourism Operators, a joint project of Tourism Industry Association of Canada, Canadian Tourism Commission and Park Canada- tourism feasibility study and strategic advice for the Pimachiowin Aki World Heritage Site Project- on behalf of Travel Manitoba, leading a team of architects, landscape achitects and technology professionals to detail the capital investment strategies for Visitor Information Centres- a diversity of projects for Manitoba Hydro and the City of Winnipeg, concerning impact assesements, faciltiies design and planning, public consultation

Ruth (with her ex-husband Rick Bueckert) founded the company that became the world`s leader in self-guided cycling and walking adventures in Europe and North America. The hallmark of the company were high quality, flexible itineraries, owned and operated exclusively by Randonnée, offering choices in types of accommodations, length of the trip, start dates, and many other unique features. With a solid, international customer base and reputation for Randonnée`s trips in France and Italy, as sole owner of the company, Ruth established a diverse offering of sel-guided adventures across Canada and in the US. After 15 exciting years, Randonnée was sold, and Ruth re-activated her career in consulting, bringing her passion for travel and active transportation to that profession.
