My current role of Academy Operations Manager at the Metropolitan Police, within Referencing and Vetting, I oversee the development of all new starters from their initial training through to becoming a fully capable caseworker. I carry out weekly development meetings with each individual to discuss how they are getting on and what support they may require for the coming week. As well as managing the new starters, I also manage a team of mentors who help train the new starters to reach the required standard before moving to a production team. Part of my role consists of managing the development of those staff that are currently underperforming in the caseworker role, I try and support these individuals through mentoring and retraining to get them back up to the required standard.
