The employment of members in the community have enhanced the quality of living for them as well as their families. ● Builds and maintains professional relationships with community residents, partners and stakeholders.● Instrumental in the birth and initial roll-out of our initiative, EARN (Employed Astoria Residents Network) which will create revenue opportunities, as well as improve increase in wage or position status, not to mention retention (contractual - productivity).● Works closely with Career Counselor, Training Specialist and Assistant Director to plan, develop and implement pre-employment activities, specifically to aide members in obtaining and maintaining employment.● Arranges and provides fast track employment training to small groups or individual participants.● Screens participants and makes referrals for appropriate job openings, job fairs and partner Workforce 1 events.● Conducts outreach and recruitment via door-knocking, outdoor tabling, mail campaigns and partner meetings.● Assists program participants in the use of computers and technology as part of their pre-employment training, job search and post-employment activities.● Manages the flow of candidates through their job seeking recruitment process, from scheduling interviews to debrief once hired.
